Correspondence among various railroads doing business with the Indianapolis, Cincinnati and LaFayette Railroad. Numerous Illinois railroad companies including the Cincinnati, LaFayette and Chicago (Kankakee Green Line), Illinois Central Railroad, and the Toledo, Peoria and Warsaw Railway wrote letters dealing with rates, legal cases and various suppliers including the Pullman Palace Car Copany. Many letters to J.H. Stewart, general manager of the Cincinnati, LaFayette, and Chicago Railroad Company, The C.L.C. Railroad was eventually leased to the Cincinnati, Indianapolis, St. Louis and Chicago Railroad Company which took over its operation in 1880.
